Unofficial, exaggerated, and absolutely not a document checklist. Process details were checked in July 2026. Confirm current requirements with The Jewish Agency or Nefesh B’Nefesh. Something out of date or inaccurate? . Any resemblance to your actual aliyah is statistically inevitable. The Ministry accepts no responsibility. The Ministry accepts nothing after 12:30.

  1. Use the dots Each ● is one action for paperwork, work, rest, or chasing an update. You can start several documents in the same week.
  2. End Week to move time Paperwork progresses, surprises happen, and your actions refill. Anything unused is lost, while ordinary life and Aliyah admin keep costing money.
  3. Keep the file alive Manage sanity, funds, deadlines, and expiring papers while you work through interview, review, visa, and arrival.
What on earth is protektzia? A guide to the lingo
Sanity & funds
Work earns money but costs sanity; rest costs money and restores it. Weekly life and Aliyah admin also eat into your moving fund. Reach zero sanity—or miss the file deadline—and the file closes.
Validity clocks
Some police and personal-status papers expire after 26 weeks and must be redone if they lapse. Your Aliyah visa also has a 26-week clock; miss it and the file closes.
Calls
A call uses an action and might shorten a wait or reveal an update. It may also achieve nothing except a small loss of sanity.
Protektzia
Hebrew slang for connections or “pulling strings”—the classic someone who knows someone. Spend a star to push the current paperwork step through or bring an appointment forward to next week.
WhatsApp tips
Some group messages come with a useful tip. It may hurry paperwork along, restore sanity, or earn another protektzia star.

How to survive the paperwork

  1. Spend your actions. Start documents, chase updates, work, or recharge. Several documents can make progress during the same week.
  2. End the week. Time moves, queues shuffle, surprises arrive, and your actions refill. Unused actions disappear.
  3. Keep the file alive. Watch sanity, funds, deadlines, and the validity clocks on documents and visas until you reach Ben Gurion.

Useful lingo

Sanity & funds
Work earns money but costs sanity; recharging does the reverse. Ordinary life and Aliyah admin also cost money each week.
Calls
Spend an action to chase an update. It might help. It might be a voicemail.
Protektzia ★
Hebrew slang for connections or “pulling strings.” Spend a star to hurry paperwork or an appointment.
Validity clocks
Some papers and visas expire, so a perfectly finished document can become unfinished again.
